Community Open House for Lord Mayor’s Day

Saturday 18th May marks Lord Mayor’s Day in Plymouth.  To celebrate this event, Plymouth University are playing host to Community Open House event involving many of the groups who are playing a part in the city’s History Festival this month.

The Community Open House is a fun vibrant community event  which has taken place annually since 2007 to compliment Lord Mayor’s Day and concludes with the departure of the parade from the Roland Levinsky Building, where the event is held. It aims to engage with the local community while encouraging local residents, community groups, charities and voluntary groups to step onto the campus and use its facilities.

Plymouth’s LGBT Archive has been invited to participate in the day and volunteers will be in attendance from the opening of the event at 9.30.  Please come down and visit us and learn about the ongoing work of the archive while celebrating Lord Mayor’s Day and the diverse history of the city of Plymouth.
