Plymouth LGBT Archive mobile display at the Hands on History event 2012
On Monday 18th February 2013 the Plymouth LGBT Archive will have a display at the Rowland Levinsky Building (Plymouth University). Our co-ordinator will be on hand to answer questions, inform you about the ongoing work of the archive and the future. Pop along between 10am and 7pm to discover some of the histories we have uncovered.
We will have a selection of material on show, our iPAD will be available for interactive browsing, we hope to be able to project a selection of our hi resolution images and have some of the oral histories available for you to hear. View and Download the poster
This coincides with Peninsular Arts screening of The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert that will be shown at 7pm in the Jill Craigie Cinema. To add to the fun for the night it would be fantastic if you could come dressed as your favourite character from this Oscar winning iconic film.
The story of two drag queens & a transsexual who leave Sydney, travelling halfway across Australia to put on a show at a resort. Along the way their bus breaks down and they find themselves performing in unlikely places where the reactions range from hilarious to hostile to incredulous to accepting.
