We have submitted entries for the Community Archive Awards providing details about our fantastic project and the creation of a permanent physical and on-line LGBT history archive for the city of Plymouth.
In support of our entry Professor Roberta Mock (Plymouth University) provided the following statement:
“The Centre for Humanities, Music and Performing Arts Research (HuMPA) at Plymouth University is delighted to be a collaborative partner in the Pride in Our Past Project. Our partnership has resulted in a 3 year studentship, funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC)’s Collaborative Doctorate Scheme on the topic of ‘Performing LGBT Pride in Plymouth, 1950-2000.’ We have also been in a position to create a research assistant post, which involves not only the project management the developing archive but the ways in which it will reach and impact upon Plymouth’s academic and non-academic communities. We look forward to extending the life of the archive in creative ways and continuing to work closely with Pride in Our Past and Plymouth and West Devon Record Office in celebrating the city’s diversity.”
